Bishop Declan Lang comments on the fall in global executions

Bishop Declan Lang, Bishop of Clifton and the lead Bishop for international affairs, has called on the UK government to prioritise its work against the death penalty and use new trade agreements as an opportunity to promote human rights. Bishop Declan’s call comes as new figures published on Tuesday 11 April, show that there were 1,032 recorded executions in 2016 – a decrease of 37% on the previous year.
