Bi-lateral meeting between the Bishops' Conference and the Church of England House of Bishops

27/04/2006

Bishops from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales and the Church of England House of Bishops will join together for a bi-lateral meeting at Hinsley Hall, Leeds on 14-15 November, 2006.

This meeting will be fraternal in character, based on shared prayer, dialogue and a desire for further development of our common Christian witness.

The meeting arises from the recommendations of the Anglican – Roman Catholic Joint Preparatory Commission in Malta, which took place in 1968. These were subsequently incorporated in the mandate of IARCCUM, the International Anglican – Roman Catholic Commission for Unity and Mission (Communion in Mission, Mississauga, May 2000).
